A long, long time ago, Franklin B. Dog was living at the "spcaLA" shelter. His name was "Thunderbolt" at the time and he was so beloved at the shelter, that they placed an ad with his picture in the newspaper to try to find him a home.

Frankie's dad, John David Ware was not even looking for a pet, but when he saw the picture, he fell in love with the dog, "whose head was a big as his heart." Mr. Ware and the canine have made two short films together thus far. The 1st one was called "New Best Friend" (2003).

Mr. Ware's goal is to soon make a feature-length, family-friendly film with Franklin B., celebrating the beautiful impact this spcaLA-nurtured animal has had on his life.
